Minimal style fingerless mitten on an LK150 -

This is a very simple and minimal-looking fingerless mitten. It is knitted on an LK150 machine. It takes some hand manipulation, but is still a straightforward quick knitting project, even for beginning machine knitters.

Construction of the minimal style fingerless mitten

This is basically 2 rectangle pieces. After folding in half, we can sew up the side seams, and leave the holes for the thumbs.

I started with the cuff ribbing. Here I use hand-manipulated ribbing. That is to reform the purl stitches with a latch tool. It can take some time to manipulate all the ribbing, but once you get used to it, it goes quickly.

You can also use 2 by 1 or 3 by 1 ribbing, so you have fewer purl stitches to reform.

I continued some ribbing patterns all the way to the top. This keeps the top edge from curling and adds interest to the fingerless mitten.

After finishing the 2 rectangle pieces, simply fold them in half and sew them up with a piece of yarn and a yarn needle. It is that simple.

If you use high-quality yarn, even a simple design will look classy. Try different thicknesses of the yarn. Because it is basically ribbing, it is very flexible in the fitting.
