How to machine knit a heart shape on an LK150

There are a lot of heart shape crochet patterns but not a lot of machine-knitting ones. Here I show you a simple machine-knitted heart shape with lace edges. It can be adjusted to different sizes by increasing or decreasing more rows.

The only problem I see about this pattern is that knitted fabric can be curly. It helps with wet blocking. Experiment with different yarns and gauges to find a less curling knitted heart.

I use medium-weight yarn, tension 9 on my LK150 knitting machine.

The heart is knitted upside down. I start from the curved top of the heart shape and knit toward the tip. The 2 curved half circles are knitted separately.

Cast on and create lace holes

Increase by moving the edge stitches out and knitting 2 rows

Hang the first half circle back with 1 extra stitch in between 2 half circles.

Move 2 stitches to the center (empty) stitch.

Increase or keep the same size until the desired size of the heart

Decrease until the tip of the heart

Blocking and weaving in yarn ends
